With hurricane season here, now is a good time to remind your customers why preparation matters. Whether you’re using social media, newsletters, mailers, or print pieces, the important thing is to keep the message in front of them all season long.
NOAA is calling for a below-normal 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, with 8-14 named storms, 3-6 hurricanes, and 1-3 major hurricanes. But below-normal does not mean no risk. It only takes one storm in the wrong place to cause serious damage.
That is why consistent customer education matters. When you talk about hurricane protection, you are not just selling a product. You are helping homeowners protect their property, their valuables, and the people inside the home. Storms can change quickly, and by the time a system is close, many customers are already behind.
Here are a few topics to work into your marketing this season:
This Season’s Outlook: Share NOAA’s forecast and remind customers that even a quieter season can still bring major impacts.
One Storm Can Do a Lot:Use real examples people remember, like Hurricanes Helene and Milton, to show how much damage one storm can cause.
Storm Tracking:Point customers to trusted places where they can follow named storms as they develop.
Prep & Safety Tips: Remind them to check emergency kits, charge backup power, fuel generators, stock supplies, and check in on family or neighbors.
Know the Evacuation Plan:Encourage customers to know their evacuation zone ahead of time and help anyone who may not have easy access to updates or transportation.
Protect What Matters: Remind customers to secure their home before a storm is on top of them. This is also a good place to talk about hurricane-rated screens and shutters, when to use them, when not to deploy them, and how to maintain them properly.
